Peter Walker
Property Inspector/Owner:
Peter Walker, CAI, ICC, IAEI, CAPI, and past CCI as of June 2007, is the principal of A1 Property Inspections of Southern California. He founded the service in 1986 to answer the needs of home buyers, investors, persons with construction disputes, and others providing impartial assessments of the quality and condition of improved real property. Peter has been a speaker and/or panelist on numerous occasions for the inspection profession. Prior building background since 1960 includes all phases of contracting specializing in remodeling, new construction, and the performance of building compliance and damage repair to structures. Since 1986 Peter has conducted or supervised the inspection of over 12,000 properties for a fee. These have included new, resale homes, apartments, retail, commercial, industrial properties and aviation development. Clients include buyers, sellers, investors, lawyers, developers, property managers, homeowner associations, lenders, insurance companies, and relocation firms. He also assists in construction disputes, fault diagnosis, construction quality control, litigation support, and similar circumstances. Peter and his staff specifically avoid any conflicting activity such as contracting or repair.
On Top of Changing Times:
Real Estate is changing everyday. Selling or buying
property is becoming more and more complicated and has more legal ramifications than ever
before. The way a property is bought and sold is much different than it was in the past.
A1
Property Inspections goal has always been to stay on top of these changes and proudly
feel we have.
Technology:
A1 Property Inspections takes great pride in the fact that since 1993 we have offered our clients detailed, narrative style, computerized reports. In 2001 we added photos to the inspection report.
In most cases we actually produce and present our clients complete inspections reports on site
or we can e-mail the report if desired. We avoid delays, and yet provide a product that is clear and concise. Further, A1 Property Inspections system provides a series of “checks and balances,” which aims to avoid unexpected surprises.
General Liability
and Workman's Compensation Insurance:
Knowing that legal ramifications are of great concern, A1 Property Inspections Inspectors are covered by General Liability and Workman’s Compensations insurance. We meet today’s responsibility expectations, a standard not often found in the inspection profession.
Code of Ethics/Standards of
Practice:
In response to demand the inspection profession has grown, however, there is still no licensing of the profession in California. The California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) and the American Society of Home Inspectors [ASHI] has set down Standards of Practice and a Code of Ethics that A1 Property Inspections has always adhered to. Our inspectors have various memberships, licenses and affiliations, all are member inspectors of ASHI.
2007 marks A1 Property Inspections
21st year in the inspection industry and it
also marks Peter Walker's 47th
year in the construction field. Please know that we always look forward to
working with you and providing you with your inspection needs.
